Give Stock or a Donor-Advised Fund Grant

Giving appreciated stock or recommending a grant from your donor-advised fund is one of the simplest, most tax-efficient ways to support local kids at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon.

Gifts of appreciated stock

When you donate stock, mutual fund shares, or other securities you have held for more than one year, you may:

  • Avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation
  • Deduct the full fair-market value of the shares (if you itemize)
  • Give more to local kids than if you sold the shares and donated the cash

How to give stock

  1. Ask your broker to transfer the shares electronically to Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon. Contact us for our brokerage and DTC transfer instructions.
  2. Let us know the name of the stock, the number of shares, and the date of transfer, so we can identify your gift and send a receipt. Transfers often arrive without donor information attached.
  3. Download our Stocks & Securities Donation Form

You can also give stock online in a few minutes through our secure donation form on the Donate page.

Donor-advised fund grants

If you give through a donor-advised fund at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Oregon Community Foundation, or another sponsor, you can recommend a grant to:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon 500 NW Wall Street, Bend, Oregon 97703 Tax ID 93-1127536

Consider naming the Club as a successor beneficiary of your fund as well, so what remains continues to serve local kids.
