Bend - Downtown
On July 29, 2010 The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon – Bend Branch’s teen program was recognized for a contribution toward world peace and understanding through participating in the PeopleLink Homestay Program. “It is through sharing lives one-to-one that we forge the links that help to create a global neighborhood. It is a special individual, business or organization that donates their time and hearts to a foreign visitor program. Thank you for sharing your country, your neighborhood and your self.”
We received this award due to our participation in a Homestay in which 14 teen boys visited Central Oregon and participated in language and cultural education programs. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon played a vital role in the social aspect of the boys’ trip providing a safe and positive place to participate in age appropriate games and activities.
