SMART Moves
The SMART Moves (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) prevention/education program teaches ages 6-15 how to not only say no, but mean it. Addressing drug/alcohol abuse and the problems arising from careless sexual conduct, its goal is to promote abstinence from substance abuse and adolescent sexual involvement by encouraging responsible adult behavior. This is accomplished through discussion, role-playing, practicing resistance/refusal skills, developing assertiveness, strengthening decision-making and analyzing the influence of media and peers.
SMART Girls
SMART Girls is for girls 10-15. The program is designed to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles through fitness, education and self-esteem enhancement.
Street SMART
Street SMART counteracts the lures of gangs and violence felt by ages 11-13. While building awareness and resistance skills, participants gain the confidence and knowledge to make intelligent choices. Street SMART's three modules teach how gangs work in order to resist being recruited, how to recognize and resolve conflicts peacefully and how to become positive peer helpers.
Cavity-Free Zone
Cavity-Free Zone aims to improve the oral health of Club members ages 6-18. Underwritten by Crest, Cavity-Free Zone was developed in response to the Surgeon General's recent oral health report revealing the existence of an oral disease epidemic in America, especially among disadvantaged youth.
